TEMPO is a 501(c)(3) organization originally started with the simple goal of raising funds to purchase new marching band uniforms. Since TEMPO’s inception the scope of the organization has broadened to support and encompass all the performing arts and their various needs throughout each school year.

The TEMPO board is comprised of five members for the 2019/2020 school year. All members of the board are volunteers who have at least one student active in the band, choir, or drama club at McHenry High School District 156.

Each year TEMPO relies on the parents and students of the performing arts program to assist us in spreading the word about our organization and in supporting the events and fundraising activities of TEMPO. All the proceeds received by TEMPO are put towards supporting the needs of the directors and students to enhance their performing arts opportunities. This can include anything from equipment for the band, risers for the choir, supplementing funds for instructors or workshops, and our annual scholarships.
